De Dolle Brouwers is located in the small village of Esen. The brewery itself is over 100 years old and still uses the old brewhouse and fermentation room. The brewmaster is an artist, literally and figuratively, and if you happen to be in West Flanders over a weekend, visiting De Dolle is a must.
Their most famous beer is Oerbier and is recognized by the “yeast man” on the bottle and by the bottle’s contents. It is considered one of the best beer to come out of Belgium, and it’s soured version, Oerbier Reserva, uses the original Rodenbach souring strains. Each of their beers is as bold and eclectic as the brewmaster and deserve the world-class reputation that they’ve earned.
